A gaze from Üsküdar.
I photograph the Bosphorus not as a view, but as a face I get to know anew each morning.

I grew up in Üsküdar, right at the water's edge. Since childhood I've watched that brief moment when the sun rises on Istanbul from the Asian shore — the hour of dawn. Years later I realised I've always been chasing the same frame: the moment sky and water turn the same colour, before any ferry has broken the surface.
My photographs aren't staged scenes. They're built on waiting: the right fog, the right light, the right silence. Most mornings I come back empty-handed. But every morning I return, the Bosphorus reminds me it never repeats the day before.
Natural light
No studio, no staging. Only that morning's light, as it is.
Patience
For a single frame I return to the same shore at the same hour for weeks.
Place
All of it is Üsküdar and around it. I photograph the water I know.
