Every project begins with what a space already has — its structure, its proportions, its daylight — before any material or finish is chosen. Decoration is the last decision a project makes, never the first.
Materials are chosen for how they age rather than how they first appear: oak, lime plaster, stone, linen. Restraint here is not the absence of decisions — it is the discipline of making fewer of them, and making each one well.
A plan is read as a sequence of rooms rather than a single image: the rhythm of arrival, threshold and pause matters as much as any one interior.
